PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:

1964 – 1970

Instrumental in developing a monostrand post-tensioning system known as the “Kelly” System” with Bill Kelly of Elbilco in New Orleans. Responsible for securing FHA approval on both the system and a method of design for slabs-on-ground. This system is still in use with FHA today.

Placed the first residential post-tensioned slab in North America in 1964 in Avondale Subdivision in Jefferson Parish.

1970 – 1979

Formed Encon Corporation, responsible for design and consultation of post-tensioned slabs both on ground and multi-story. Responsible for applications throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

1979 – Present

President, Robert B Anderson Consulting Engineers, LLC, a civil and structural engineering firm whose attention has been primarily focused on commercial, industrial and residential design consultation, as well as post-tensioned and conventional foundation design. Robert B. Anderson Consulting Engineers, LLC is currently involved in approximately 250,000 sq.ft. of commercial, industrial and residential design projects per month. In addition, Mr. Anderson has provided seminars for the Post-Tensioning Institute, as well as learning to the American Society of Civil Engineers – Geotechnical Division; American Concrete Institute Continuing Education Seminar; Building Officials Association of Florida; Technische Akademie Essingen, West Germany; and guest lecturer at Tulane University School of Engineering and University of New Orleans School of Engineering.
